The VERSACE Spring/Summer 2010 Collection during Milan Fashion Week was nothing less than what they usually deliver, SPECTACULAR designs; everything from the floating, futuristic soles to the bright pastel patterns. Inspired by Tim Burton’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’, Donatello Versace’s collection is based on the idea of that “fantasy land.”
The inspiration took the shape of mixing vivid pastels, geometric prints, and baroque curlicues. The platforms and sky high heels will still be the norm for spring, but Donatella has incorporated a floating sole which is between the shoes and the platform. I have noticed many Italian designers (ie: Gia Lorenzi) have adopting this concept and brings a whole new fresh look to the platform.
