Balenciaga Sandals in Black Suede

From the Spring/ Summer 2009, I was at first baffled by these Balenciaga sandals. See at first I thought that they were boots but obviously not!!! It must be some sort of tights/ sandal infusion. I like the bubble-like soul. It has grip which I think would be good for rainy, slippery days. What do you think…?
these shoes intrigue me.. to get the 2nd look, it seems like parts of it were removed to fix in the tights?
they are definitely something i wouldn’t be able to pull off but I applaud the imagination of the designer!
